Using audio feedback

A YouView Box FAQ

Audio feedback helps our users who are partially sighted or blind to use YouView.

Here’s everything you need to know about using this feature on your YouView Box.

Turning on audio feedback generates audio tones to inform you that a key press on the remote control have been received by the YouView box. You can turn them on from the settings menu. 

  1. Bring up the menu with your remote
  2. Select Settings*
  3. Scroll down to the Accessibility & Language area and select Audio feedback
  4. Select Audio feedback
  5. Select your preferred setting
  6. Select Done

*Settings can be found via the cog in the top right corner of the Menu. You can get to the cog by pressing Up and right after opening the Menu.

There are different tone types and lengths that indicate a function. Here’s a table of the tone types and lengths available:





We also let you adjust the volume of the feedback tones in the settings menu.

  1. Bring up the menu with your remote
  2. Select Settings*
  3. Scroll down to the Accessibility & Language area and select Audio feedback
  4. Select Volume
  5. Select your preferred setting
  6. Select Done

The range of volume levels available are:
 

  • Very Low (-6 decibels)
  • Low
  • Normal (default option, +-0 decibels)
  • High
  • Very High (+6 Decibels)
